Description: A local community based, community led, non-governmental organization in Kenya working with local communities on achievement of sustainable development goals through nature based partnership projects and solutions.

Sol-Kenya  a community, grass root, nonprofit making organization was founded in the year 2004 and registered with the government of Kenya. The organization operates in the marginalized rural locations of the Eastern province – greater Meru region and Rift valley – Samburu region.

Our core activities mainly centered on creating awareness on community health and education issues, mitigate HIV prevalence and to promote community continuum care for the infected persons hence reducing the high level of HIV stigma within the community. However, the organization is changing it’s approach to Partnership with local communities (Community based organizations, self-help groups, cooperatives, community forest associations, beach management units, institutions and farmer groups), governments and social economic and climate investment partners.

• Financial inclusion of women and youth
• Nature based and carbon credit development consulting services

Past projects involved:

• Establishing appropriate, caring community systems for people living with HIV & AIDS.
• Establishing and supporting continuum and care support systems for orphans and vulnerable children within the sites.
• Empowering community caregivers and volunteers with skills on home based care, palliative care, childcare, basic HIV counseling and community development.
